The United States has introduced a new visa reciprocity policy for Ghana, sharply reducing the validity period and entry frequency for most non-immigrant visa categories. Under the updated rules, applicants for business (B-1), tourism (B-2), and student (F-1) visas will now be issued single-entry visas valid for only three months. This is a significant shift from the previous arrangement, which offered multiple-entry visas lasting anywhere from one to five years.

However, the new policy does not affect all categories. Diplomatic and official passport holders (A-class visas) will continue to enjoy multiple-entry privileges with validity ranging from two to five years. Similarly, fiancé(e) and family-based visas (K1 to K4) remain largely untouched, maintaining their existing terms for both entry and duration.
