Ghanaian international and former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Teye Partey has been formally charged by the Metropolitan Police in the UK with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. The charges stem from alleged incidents involving three different women, with the reported offenses taking place between October 2021 and July 2022. Two of the rape charges relate to one woman, three to another, while the single sexual assault charge involves a third complainant. These developments follow a lengthy police investigation that began in February 2022, with the Crown Prosecution Service now officially authorizing prosecution.

Thomas Partey is expected to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 5, 2025, to respond to the charges. Both the Metropolitan Police and the Crown Prosecution Service have emphasized their support for the alleged victims and urged the public to avoid commentary that could affect the integrity of the judicial process. Partey, who recently left Arsenal, has not yet publicly responded to the charges. The case has drawn widespread attention due to the high-profile nature of the accused and the seriousness of the allegations.
