Speaker has five days to identify the MP who referred to Zanetor Rawlings as the "daughter of a murderer" - Anlo Chiefs.

Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has been formally petitioned by the Anlo Dukor Council to name the member of parliament who is accused of calling Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings the "daughter of a murderer" during a February 4, 2025, parliamentary session. The council has given the Speaker until February 10 to reveal the person's identify, stressing that this information is essential for deciding what they will do next.
The incident happened during conversations commemorating Joseph Boakye Danquah's 60th birthday. "Daughter of a murderer, sit down!" was yelled by an unnamed male voice from the Minority side when Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings, the MP for Klottey-Korle and the eldest daughter of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings, tried to add anything to the discussion. MPs Samuel Abu Jinapor and Nana Kwame Asafo-Adjei were first implicated in the rumor, but both have denied saying anything.
The Anlo leaders, led by Togbi Sri III, expressed their indignation and denounced the remark as "unfortunate" and "disparaging." To choose the best course of action, they are eager to find the accountable MP. The seriousness of the situation and the chiefs' will to protect their representatives' dignity are highlighted in their plea.
