The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has arrested three former senior officials of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and its Customs Division as part of ongoing investigations into alleged corruption involving Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd. (SML).

The arrested individuals are:

  • Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, former Commissioner-General of the GRA
  • Isaac Crentsil, former Commissioner of Customs and current General Manager at SML
  • Christian Tetteh Sottie, former Technical Advisor and now Managing Director of SML

According to the OSP, the arrests are linked to questionable contracts awarded to SML for revenue assurance services. The company has claimed that its operations have helped the state recover significant revenue losses, but the OSP is probing the validity of these claims and the integrity of the contractual process.

All three suspects were detained overnight after failing to meet their bail conditions.

This action by the OSP forms part of broader efforts to clamp down on corruption, particularly in revenue mobilization and public procurement.

The investigation is ongoing.
