Sam George sacks NCA’s Director of Cyber Security, Kwadwo Gyamfi Osafo-Maafo

Kwadwo Gyamfi Osafo-Maafo, the Director of Cyber Security of the National Communications Authority (NCA), has been fired by Samuel Nartey George, Minister of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, in a dramatic decision. On February 14, 2025, Chief Director Alexander Yaw Arphul issued a letter announcing the firing, which took effect immediately. Mr. Osafo-Maafo has been instructed to hand over his duties to the NCA's Acting Director General. He will be compensated with three months' salary in lieu of notice, as per the conditions specified in his letter of employment. Minister Sam George thanked Mr. Osafo-Maafo for his contributions to the country.
