OSP Declares Former Finance Ministry Advisor Wanted in SML-GRA Corruption Probe

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has declared Ernest Darko Akore, a former Technical Advisor (Chef de Cabinet) at Ghana’s Ministry of Finance, as a wanted person. Authorities are seeking his arrest in connection with ongoing investigations into alleged corruption and related offences.

Official letter from the OSP tagging Mr. Akore as Wanted

Mr. Akore is being investigated for his role in the controversial Revenue Assurance Contract between the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML). According to the OSP, the 67-year-old, who may hold dual Ghanaian-American nationality, is suspected to be residing in one of the following countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, or South Africa.

The public is urged to assist by providing information on his whereabouts via calls or WhatsApp messages to the numbers 0554494499 or 0554484488.

The notice follows a warrant issued by the High Court – Criminal Division in the case of Republic v. Ernest D. Akore, with suit number CR/0397/2025.
