The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has publicly apologized on behalf of the party, recognizing its past governance shortcomings and assuring Ghanaians that those errors will not be repeated in future administrations.

Speaking with refreshing candor, Kodua acknowledged that while the NPP government made significant strides during its eight years in power, it also fell short in some critical areas. “As a political party, certainly we did our best, but we couldn’t have gotten everything right,” he admitted. “On behalf of our then government and our party, we apologize for the things we didn’t get right.”

Following its loss in the 2024 general elections, the NPP has embarked on a period of reflection and restructuring. Kodua emphasized the party's determination to evolve from its past. “We are ready to learn and improve. When we return to power, we will build on our achievements and avoid repeating our mistakes,” he stated.

These remarks come as the party prepares for major internal changes, including its presidential primaries scheduled for January 31, 2026, and a significant constitutional reform expected to be finalized at the National Delegates Conference in July 2025. According to the leadership, these reforms are vital for rebuilding public trust and positioning the NPP for a political comeback.
