Ghana’s Minority Caucus in Parliament has honoured the Black Queens with a cash donation of GH₵100,000 (approximately $9,500) following their impressive performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where they secured the bronze medal.

The presentation, led by Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, was made in Parliament as a gesture of appreciation and encouragement for the national women’s football team. The MPs praised the team for their resilience, discipline, and the pride they brought to the nation through their performance.
The Minority Caucus highlighted the importance of supporting women’s sports and called for increased investment in female athletes. They emphasized that the Black Queens’ success at the WAFCON tournament should not only be celebrated but also serve as a motivation for broader structural support for women in football.
The donation, though symbolic, represents a broader appeal for recognition and sustained backing for Ghana’s female sports talents.
