Maxwell Kofi Jumah, the former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries, has been arrested by national security operatives at his residence in Kumasi. The arrest occurred on Sunday, June 29, 2025, after officers requested to speak with him. He was subsequently transported in a pickup vehicle to the Ashanti Regional Police Command, where he is currently being held in custody.

Sources say he is being probed for alleged unauthorized sales of state assets and questionable vehicle acquisitions. This follows an earlier operation on May 15, where security agents attempted to recover state-owned vehicles believed to be in his possession, though he was absent at the time.
