Federal prosecutors in Manhattan have decided to drop several serious charges against music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, including attempted kidnapping, arson, and aiding and abetting sex trafficking. This move comes just days before the trial enters its final phase, with closing arguments scheduled for later this week. The decision to dismiss these specific allegations was confirmed in an official court filing on June 25, 2025, by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. As a result, the jury will no longer deliberate on these particular charges.

However, Diddy is not completely in the clear. He still faces major allegations involving sex trafficking, racketeering, and the transportation of individuals for prostitution. The trial will proceed with these remaining charges as the focal point. Legal analysts believe the prosecution’s decision may have been a strategic move to streamline the case and focus the jury’s attention. Jury deliberations are expected to begin by the end of June, with a verdict potentially arriving in early July. The trial remains one of the most closely watched celebrity legal battles in recent years.
