Self Acclimated 'Igbo King', Chukwudi Ihenetu Retracts Igbo Kingdom Claims, Apologizes to Ghana

Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu, the man seen in a viral video claiming intentions to establish an Igbo Kingdom in Ghana, has clarified that the video was from a 2013 interview which he now deeply regrets. In a meeting held yesterday, he explained that he has since abandoned that idea and has not acquired any land for such a purpose. He expressed sincere apologies to the President, Government, traditional authorities, and the people of Ghana for the tension and misunderstanding his past comments have caused.

Ghana remains committed to its long-standing reputation for warm hospitality and a Pan-African identity that welcomes all, especially Africans and those of African descent. While the government continues to uphold this inclusive spirit, it also expects all residents and visitors to respect the country's peaceful and lawful traditions. Authorities are calling for calm, reminding all of the deep ties between Ghana and Nigeria, and urging the public to avoid inflammatory commentary that could trigger xenophobic sentiments.
