Christian Tetteh Yohuno Assumes Office as IGP, Pledges to Align with Mahama's Resetting Agenda

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Commissioner of Police (COP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new Inspector-General of Police (IGP), succeeding Dr. George Akuffo Dampare. At his swearing-in ceremony on March 14, 2025, IGP Yohuno expressed his commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and discipline within the Ghana Police Service. He acknowledged the immense responsibility that comes with the role and assured Ghanaians of his dedication to strengthening the institution’s core values, traditions, and modernization efforts. His appointment is expected to bring a renewed focus on enhancing the effectiveness and credibility of the police force.
