Bawumia Urges Mahama to Focus on Job Creation Instead of Unjust Dismissals

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has called on former President John Dramani Mahama to prioritize job creation rather than dismissing workers unfairly. According to Bawumia, economic growth and stability depend on expanding employment opportunities, not reducing the workforce. He emphasized that competent and hardworking individuals should not lose their jobs due to political transitions, as such actions negatively impact families and the broader economy.

Bawumia highlighted that sustainable development requires policies that foster entrepreneurship, industrial expansion, and private-sector growth. He criticized instances where workers were allegedly dismissed without justification under Mahama’s administration, arguing that such decisions create fear and instability in the job market. Instead of targeting employees for political reasons, he urged leaders to implement strategies that attract investment and provide long-term job security for citizens.

The Vice President reiterated that governance should be centered on improving livelihoods by empowering businesses and creating employment avenues. He expressed confidence that with the right policies, Ghana can significantly reduce unemployment and enhance economic prosperity. Bawumia encouraged political leaders to adopt inclusive policies that ensure fairness in the labor sector while promoting national development.
