Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has reignited conversations around relationships and fidelity following bold remarks about male sexuality. Speaking on the 234 Mzansi podcast hosted by Ani Emmanuel (Nedu Wazobia), the 49-year-old artiste claimed that men are not naturally wired to remain sexually faithful to one woman.

“I’ve said it before and got backlash, but I’ll say it again: men weren’t designed to be sexually committed to just one woman,” 2Baba stated during the interview. According to him, even when a man is deeply in love and committed emotionally, staying sexually exclusive can still be a challenge.

“A man’s heart and respect may belong to one woman, but sexually, it's hard to limit himself,” he explained. “Some men choose to live differently, but biologically, the average man is driven by instinct. A man has many seeds—he’s not built to drop them for just one woman.”

His comments come at a time when public interest in his personal life is once again on the rise, especially following his separation from actress Annie Idibia. While avoiding deep personal revelations, 2Baba confirmed that their breakup was mutual and stemmed from emotional distance.

“Annie is a beautiful and incredible person, and we shared a strong connection. But it just wasn’t working anymore,” he shared. “We both gave it our best, and that’s what matters. I don’t want to go into details, but she’s still amazing.”

Encouraging couples to be honest about their relationship challenges, the African Queen hitmaker said no one should remain in a failing marriage due to societal pressure. “If a marriage isn’t working, fix it. If it still doesn’t work, you shouldn’t be forced to stay. Only those in it know the reality.”

2Baba also praised the important women in his life, including Annie, the mothers of his children, and his current partner, Natasha Osawaru. He described them all as “amazing,” each with unique strengths and qualities. “People bring unnecessary drama,” he concluded. “I just appreciate everyone’s beauty and uniqueness.”
